Director of Development

Summary: AU is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Director of Development (DOD) to organize and lead the institutional efforts towards securing and raising funds to support the instructional, research, clinical, and service activities of AU’s mission, through annual and major gifts. The DOD will develop the operational structure for raising funds in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. This structure will contribute to the advancement of the institutional short-range and long-term strategic objectives through gifts from foundations, corporations, individuals, and alumni support. The DOD will create and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans that will yield a positive return on investment. The DOD reports to the President. The position will work form either the Miami or San Juan campus. Available to travel.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or related field.
- Five years of successful experience in fundraising, including prospect research, grant writing, special events, and alumni affairs.
- Networking and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
